UDCF CHEER SCORING SYSTEM
The UCDF scoring system is based on a tenth of a point scale much like gymnastics and figure skating (example 8.5, 8.4, 8.2). The combined total Judge’s score will be converted to a ten point scale. All point deductions and/or rule violations will be deducted from that total. This scores will be averaged to get the final Score. In the event of a tie the teams will share the placement.
LEVEL RANGE SPREAD
Level 1 Range 5-6 5.0,5.1,5.2,5.3,5.4,5.5,5.6,5.7,5.8,5.9,6.0
Level 2 Range 6-7 6.0,6.1,6.2,6.3,6.4,6.5,6.6,6.7,6.8,6.9,7.0
Level 3 Range 7-8 Etc.
Level 4 Range 8-9 Etc.
Level 5 Range 9-10 Etc.
Level 6 Range 9-10 Etc.
The reason for the ranges at each level is to make sure each team at each level is awarded the skills they are doing within that level. This will prevent a level 2 team out scoring a level 5 team. Unless the deductions of a level 5 team are so severe their score falls below other level teams.
Skills not performed within these levels will result in being judged in a different range bracket. Example, say a level 3 team does not perform round off tucks and or round off back handspring tucks in the running tumbling category their range for running tumbling will drop to the level 2 scoring range. It is up to the coaches and gym owners to make sure each team is appropriately placed in their respective level.
To score in the higher portion of the range within each level, teams are expected to perform skills by the majority of the team with a high level of perfection. All skills performed with less than majority of team and or with moderate to low level of execution will be scored at the lower portion of the range. Skills not performed at all within each category will result in a ‘0’ for that category. Points will not be awarded for skills not performed. Example: a team does not perform any jumps within their routine, regardless of the level they will receive a ’0” for that category.
